Camp Kern New Website

Your adventure takes place on the best sailing lake west of the Colorado River! Camp Kern is located on the banks of Huntington Lake, 7,000 ft above the San Joaquin Valley floor in the High Sierra Mountains of California.
Accessible only by barge, the adventure begins right at the parking lot where campers load up and journey across the lake to Camp Kern! A short climb up Scout Law Trail delivers you into the heart of camp. This camp is not for the faint of heart! Rough terrain, high elevation, cool nights and
refreshing lake waters are what make your camp experience memorable.

There are plenty of activities to keep you busy, and lots of new skills to master! Enjoy swimming, sailing, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, rifle shooting and more! Our skilled staff will be on hand to help you make the most of your stay and try new activities that you never thought were possible! And be sure to stop by the swim front for open swim, our new water trampoline is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

You do not have to be a Scout to attend Camp Kern! New this year is the Camp Kern Provisional Program. Be a part of a Troop for a week, experience life as a Scout, learn Scouting traditions and have the fun that Scouts have! The provisional program is also perfect for those Scouts who cannot attend camp with their Troop, or just want to have another camping experience this summer.

Scouts who have their sights set on Eagle can also attend one of our Trail to Eagle Sessions. Meet with counselors who will assist in merit badge completion, the concept of what is an Eagle Scout, what makes a good Eagle service project, and other aspects of becoming an Eagle Scout. The week will culminate with a staged Eagle Ceremony.

Get ready for the week of your life! Once you have experienced Camp Kern, you will want to come back year after year! So, check your gear, and get ready to make memories that will last a lifetime.

We’ll see you on the dock!
